The Scientific Initiation characterized by a tool to introduce scientific research undergraduate students. Its main purpose is to awaken young talent to science, promoting their participation in research projects.
In this regard, the Scientific Initiation characterized as a theoretical and methodological tool to support the implementation of projects, providing the channel for the formation of a new mentality in students and opportunity to learn professional skills in all areas of knowledge. It also helps to improve the training of students, preparing them for graduate school, for learning techniques and methods necessary for research, for the development of thinking and create scientifically, guiding them to the academic life and a professional leadership role in their respective areas of interest.
Participation a scholarship or volunteer
Currently the program has two modes for entering undergraduate students in the initiation of activities: as fellows and / or volunteers.
To act as a Fellow, are offered to students three distinct modes of exchange for the exercise of scientific research activities in the institution: PIBIC / CNPq Exchange, PIBITI bag / CNPq and FUNADESP Exchange.
Such bags are an individual financial incentive granted by development agencies to students with better academic performance, chosen through a selection process. Applications can be made annually, according to the arranged deadlines and requirements and disclosed in the specific notices.
In acting as a volunteer, the student develops activities related to the research project without compensation bag. Registration for this program mode are streaming and do not depend on notice for selection.
Management of the Scientific Initiation Program (CIP) is the responsibility of the Board of Graduate Studies and Research Strictly speaking, that through the Division of Research and Scientific Initiation, plan, monitor and evaluate all processes related to the program.
With the support of counselors, students, course coordinators and other sectors of the institution, search print continuous improvements to the program. It also promotes the dissemination of the PIC by the university community, answers questions of teachers and students, guides filling out forms and ensures compliance with the criteria and deadlines.
It also promotes exchanges with students, seeking to clarify and report on the proceedings of the PIC and, if necessary, seek solutions for unforeseen issues in the CIP regulations.
