PRESENTATION

The Academic Master's Degree in  Animal  Bioscience of  UNIC aims to develop the teaching and research in Veterinary Medicine and related areas, enabling the formation of graduates in stricto sensu level , to act in scientific research, technological development and in higher education, in processes that seek  animal health, by means of clinical-surgical, reproductive actions and studies involving diagnosis, epidemiology, control and prevention of diseases.

The associated Doctor’s degree  UNIC-UFV in Animal Bioscience  was approved at the 479th Meeting of the Council of  Technical-Scientific Higher Education   - CTC-ES/CAPES, aiming at scientific research into health and sustainable animal production in ecosystems of  Pantanal, Cerrado and Amazon, through practices of diagnosis, management, treatment and prophylaxis of surgical and clinical affections.

Target Audience

Graduated  students in Veterinary Medicine  Dentistry and alike  areas

CONCENTRATION AREA

DOCTOR’S DEGREE  - HEALTH AND ANIMAL PRODUCTION IN THE BIOMES OF PANTANAL, CERRADO AND AMAZON

The program aims to raise and investigate problems related to health and animal production in different regional ecosystems, identifying the critical points and developing measures to control, prophylaxis, productive, reproductive and alternatives for sustainable management. Therefore, studies shall be conducted  involving diagnosis and epidemiology of diseases, as well as actions of prevention and treatment of animals, ensuring animal welfare, public health, environmental and animal health (saúde única). The program also aims at the training of human resources, considering the needs and regional demands.

MASTER’S DEGREE - ANIMAL HEALTH

Aims to act in the central points of Veterinary Medicine under the doctor-investigative context, focusing on aspects of the etiology, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and prophylaxis of animal diseases, as well as actions directed to the problems and solutions of clinical, surgical, preventive and reproductive nature, aiming at the formation of professionals that add to its practical experience a critical and reflective vision aimed at our reality, establishing important interactions with the animal health and welfare.

RESEARCH LINE-DOCTOR DEGREE

Research Line 1: Animal’s Management, Clinic And Surgery

To develop multidisciplinary projects, with a view to broaden the understanding of the social and environmental impacts of the animals’ diseases in the biomes of  Pantanal, Cerrado and Amazon, and, with this, propose rational solutions tangential to the management, clinical, surgical, clinical diagnosis aspects and treatment of animals.

Research Line 2: Animal Production and Health

to study  productive and sustainable systems  in different ecosystems, develop and/or make use of biotechnologies, assisted reproductive techniques and nutritional management of production animals. To apply  and develop methods of etiological, serological diagnosis and molecular, immunological and cell characterization, control measures and prophylaxis of diseases for the establishment of health programs, with a focus on health and well-being of production animals.

RESEARCH LINE-MASTER’S DEGREE

Research Line 1: Diagnosis, Epidemiology, Control and Prophylaxis of Diseases
to develop and evaluate methods of etiological  and serological diagnosis, control and prophylaxis of diseases for the establishment of health programs in animal health with the objective of obtaining greater productivity in livestock production, preservation of wild animals and promote the animals’ welfare.

Research Line 2: Veterinary clinics and Animal Reproduction
to study processes that involve clinical-surgical diseases and reproductive aspects in  production, company and wild animals.
