PRESENTATION

The Strictu Sensu Graduate Program  in physical exercise in the  Health Promotion  started its activities in March/2012 and consists of  a pioneering initiative of professional master's degree in the area of Physical Education and Physiotherapy. The program is offered in in-class  modality, a the unit UNOPAR/Pizza, in the city of Londrina, Paraná. In the last quadrennium it was evaluated by CAPES with concept 4.

The course offers 15 vacancies annually for regular students. Registrations for the selection process are carried out in the months of October/November of each year and the tests are held occur in the month of December. The selection process is made up of knowledge  Test involving issues related to the theme "Physical exercise in Health Promotion", analysis of Curriculum Vitae" and Interview.

 

Course Objectives

  • Acting in professional training already inserted  in the labor market directed to physical exercise in the health promotion,  so as to contribute to the purchase of higher complexity level of intervention in its  routine of service;
  • To offer  the opportunity of continued formation with a vision of a multidisciplinary performance for creation, mobilization and consolidation of technical-scientific competences oriented to prescription and the orientation of physical exercise on health promotion in different life cycles; and
  • Provide conditions for development and improvement of methods, techniques, processes and products related to professional activities associated with physical exercise in health promotion.

 

Target Audience

Graduated students in Physical Education, Sports, Physiotherapy, Medicine, Nutrition and related areas.

CONCENTRATION AREA

Methods and protocols related to the prescription of physical exercise:

Professional intervention and scientific research that can ensure the incorporation and/or development of methods and evaluation protocols, prescription and guidance of physical exercise programs related to health promotion in its different dimensions: prevention/control of illness and health rehabilitation.

 

Field of Work

(1) Preventive Dimensions of physical exercise: Approach of  methods and protocols related to the practice of physical exercise at a young age, in adults and in the elderly associated with biological and behavioral indicators that may reflect on the prevention and control of chronic non-communicable diseases, being described   as an important adjuvant in the proposition and in the development of programs and projects for health promotion; and

(2) Therapeutic Dimensions of physical exercise: Approach of  methods and protocols related to the practice of physical exercise at a young age, in adults and in the elderly associated with biological and behavioral indicators that may reflect on the prevention and control of chronic non-communicable diseases, being described   as an important adjuvant in the proposition and in the development of programs and projects for health promotion.

Final Paper

The postulant to the title of Professional Master's Degree in physical exercise in Health Promotion shall prepare and submit to a Board of Examination report of his or her  technical-scientific production , which should contain the results of scientific studies developed with  his or her advisor and technical production outlined and completed during the course.

The technical production should be linked to the proposition of immediate solution of real problems in the working environment and can be presented in different formats: (a) technical publication in book form, manual operation, practical guide, didactic book; (b) development of applications; (c) the production of electronic media; (d) Construction of software; (e) definition of prototypes to production equipment; and (f) idealization of project of technological innovation.
